Monitor

The Monitor displays each Agent's status and places entries in the Notification Request Queue for the Notification Manager to process. The status of the Agent is summarized by three colors:

Red
- Indicates the Agent has stopped or appears to have stopped and is classified as "down". The Agent is sorted to the top of the display.
Blue
- Indicates the Agent has stopped or appears to have stopped and is classified as "down", but notification is disabled for the Agent.
Yellow
- Indicates the Agent has exceeded a configured warning threshold for an event and is classified as "caution". The Agent is sorted after the "down" Agents.
Green
- Indicates the Agent is operating within the normal event thresholds, and is classified as "up". The Agent is sorted after the "down' and "caution" Agents.
Agents by status

The Monitor's display can be by Agent name, Agent status, Agent Facility, Agent Location or Agent Server. When the Monitor's display is by Facility, Location or Server, the Agents are grouped accordingly. If all Agents within the group are operating normally, the group appears collapsed. If an Agent within the group is marked as "down" or "caution", the entire group is automatically expanded.

Agents by host and statusThe Monitor is also responsible for creating and placing entries in the Notification Request Queue to be processed by the Notification Manager. The Monitor uses the configured information for each Agent's Events and Contacts to create the entries for the Notification Manager. After all entries have been placed in the Notification Request Queue, the Notification Manager is started.
