Control
Server The Control Server provides TCP/IP socket connections for Agents to send their status information and the Control Server inserts it into the Agent Manager database. The Control Server also calculates the Agents cumulative status and puts it into the database. The Control Server's operation has no impact on the active Agents. When an Agent starts, it attempts to connect to the Control Server. If the Agent cannot establish a connection, it sets a server-wide flag that the Control Server is not available. The Agent Control Server continues to attempt connection to the Control Server. Once the Agent Control Server establishes a connection to the Control Server, the Agent Control Server removes the server-wide flag, and the Agents establish their connections to the control server. Once a connection is established between the Agent and the Control Server, the connection allows the Agent to send status information and the Agent Manager to send commands to the Agent.
